These rules are in place to help you effectively communicate and ensure simple mistakes are avoided.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Ch2 id=\u0022a_text_message_can_only_be_sent_to_a_recipient_once\u0022\u003EA text message can only be sent to a recipient once\u003C/h2\u003E\u003Cp\u003EWhen sending text messages through automation or through the scheduler, DailyStory will ensure that a contact in a campaign will only receive your text message once.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThis keeps you from sending the same text message by accident and it allows tracking of text message performance per unique send.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EWhat this means is that a text message can be scheduled repeatedly for the same campaign or sent again through an automation without any concern of over-sending the same text message. If the recipient was previously sent the text message, they will not be sent the text message again.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIf a recipient asks to be resent the text message,\u0026nbsp;send a single text message.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Ccite class=\u0022recommended\u0022\u003E\u003Cspan class=\u0022title\u0022\u003ERecommended\u003C/span\u003E\u003Cp\u003ESome messages need to be sent to a recipient more than once, such as a cart abandon. These messages should be marked as transactional.\u003C/p\u003E\u003C/cite\u003E\u003Ch2 id=\u0022contacts_that_share_mobile_numbers_are_deduplicated\u0022\u003EContacts that share mobile numbers are deduplicated\u003C/h2\u003E\u003Cp\u003EWhile a contact can only be sent a text message once, it is possible multiple contacts have same mobile number. When both contacts are set to receive the text message in a campaign, both will be marked as have been sent the text message. However, the text message will only go to the mobile number once.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Ccite class=\u0022recommended\u0022\u003E\u003Cspan class=\u0022title\u0022\u003ERecommended\u003C/span\u003E\u003Cp\u003ENote while we do everything possible to prevent duplicate mobile numbers this does occur.\u003C/p\u003E\u003C/cite\u003E\u003Ch2 id=\u0022the_contact_must_be_active\u0022\u003EThe Contact must be Active\u003C/h2\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe contact who is set to receive the text message must be an Active contact. Contacts marked as Deleted, for example, will not receive a text message.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Ch2 id=\u0022lead_status_must_be_active_converted_or_nurturing\u0022\u003ELead status must be Active, Converted, or Nurturing\u003C/h2\u003E\u003Cp\u003EWhen a contact is added to a campaign it is called a lead. A lead in a campaign can only receive a text message from that campaign if the lead\u0027s status is Active, Converted or Nurturing.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Ch2 id=\u0022the_contact_must_be_opted_in\u0022\u003EThe Contact must be opted in\u003C/h2\u003E\u003Cp\u003EContacts\u0026nbsp;who are marked as do not contact or have opted out of text message will not be sent text messages. If the text message is marked as Is Transactional the message is sent to the recipient even if they are opted out.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Ch2 id=\u0022the_mobile_number_must_be_valid\u0022\u003EThe mobile number must be valid\u003C/h2\u003E\u003Cp\u003EInvalid mobile numbers will not be sent to. If a text message is sent to a mobile number and the mobile number is invalid, such as a land line, the contact\u0027s mobile number will be set as undeliverable and will not be sent to again.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Ch2 id=\u0022do_not_contact_date_must_not_be_in_the_future\u0022\u003EDo not contact date must not be in the future\u003C/h2\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIf a contact\u0027s do not contact until date is set to a future date, the text message will not be sent.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe do not contact date is handled differently for leads moving through an \u003Ca href=\u0022/article/xrhcd8830x-daily-story-autopilot-guide\u0022\u003EAutopilot Automation\u003C/a\u003E: if a lead is set to receive a message through an automation, but the lead\u0027s do not contact until date is within the next week, the message will queue itself for delivery at that time.
