Add Contacts to a Static Segment

Once a segment is created you can add contacts to the segment....DailyStory support multiple types of segments, but all segments are either dynamic or static: Dynamic segments are maintained automatically based on changing results of a search; Static segments are manually maintained by adding or removing contacts....Add a single contact from a search Navigate to Contacts > Search Contacts and search for the contact you're looking for....Click on Segments....To learn more about creating static segments or all types of segments, visit our segments guide .

Viewing the Contacts in a Segment

There several different ways to access segments: Main Navigation - from the navigation bar click Contact > All Segments ....Dashboard - click the Manage Segments button....View all Segments From here you will find a list of all the available segments and you can click on an individual segment to view additional details: View a Segment When you click on a segment you'll access a dashboard with additional detials: From the segment dashboard you'll find: Total members - total members of the segment Eligible for email - contacts that are both opted in and have a valid email address Eligible for text messaging - contacts that are both opted in and have a valid mobile phone number Eligible for push notifications - contacts that are both opted in and have a valid mobile app id Opted out of email - contacts that have opted out of email Opted out of text messages - contacts that have opted out of text messages Opted out of push notification - contacts that have opted out of push notifications Opted out of phone calls - contacts who have opted out of phone calls Warning You may also wonder why the number eligible for email plus the number opted out only adds up to...Important If your segment is dynamic you cannot add or remove contacts from your segment....Is Call List - a special identifier for segments used in dialing software.

Create a Static Segment

From the Segments Page, select   + Create  in the Segment left side-bar menu....Import a list of Contacts and save it as a new segment....Recommended By default, new segments are created as static segments unless created from a search result....Edit a Segment To edit a segment navigate to Contacts > Segments....Here you will see a list of all active segments.
