The DailyStory email skill teaches Claude to build emails from the same widgets you use in the Email Designer. This article lists what Claude can create with the skill, and what to add in the designer afterwards. To get started, see Build Emails with Claude.
Every email is a stack of full-width rows. Each row has its own background color, so a typical email has a colored header row, a white content row and a light footer row. Rows are 640 pixels wide on desktop and adjust automatically on phones.
Inside a row, Claude can place content in a single column or side by side using two- or three-column layouts. Two columns work well for a pair of products or events; for anything people need to read, a single column is easier on a phone.
| Widget | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Header | Section headings and the main headline. |
| Text / HTML | Paragraphs, bulleted and numbered lists, bold and italic text, and links within text. |
| Button | Calls to action. Buttons are rendered so their color and shape hold up in Outlook as well as other email clients. |
| Image | Logos, hero images and product photos, optionally linked. |
| 2 Column Content and 3 Column Content | Side-by-side content inside a row. |
| Divider | A horizontal line between sections. |
| Spacer | Vertical space between sections. |
| Social Icons | Links to your social profiles, filled in from your account settings. |
| Footer | Your copyright, unsubscribe and email preferences links, and company address. Required. |
Some widgets depend on live data or settings inside DailyStory, so Claude doesn't create them. After importing, open the email in the Email Designer and drag them in where you want them:
If your email design includes images, the Claude email skill will generate a .zip file that includes the images. These are automatically imported, uploaded to the File Manager and included in your email.
Claude can use DailyStory personalization tags such as {{@ user.firstname}}, {{@ account.name}} and {{@ account.url_website}} in text, headings and links. See Email Merge Tags for the full list.
The skill uses your brand colors and fonts when you give them to Claude. Use the values from your Brand Kit. Without them, Claude uses a clean, neutral style you can restyle in the designer.
Claude includes the subject line, inbox preview text and email name in the file, and DailyStory fills them in when you import it. The sender, campaign, tracking and scheduling are set in DailyStory as usual. See Create or Edit an Email.
