Free Trial Limitations

The free trial offered by DailyStory allows you to use nearly all of the capabilities of the DailyStory platform for up to 14 days.

Recommended

Please note usage of the free trial requires that you complete the account verification prior to sending emails or using automations.

However, while using the free trial you may receive this message:

Not Available in Free Trial

This means you have attempted to access a feature or capability that is not available in the free trial and will require you to upgrade to a paid plan.

Limitations of the Free Trial

Below are limitations of the free trial.

Customer Support

Customer support on the free plan is limited to chat and email support. However, you have full access to our documentation at https://docs.dailystory.com.

Data retention

Data for reports are only available for the term of the trial. Paid plans have a 2-year data retention period by default with the option to go longer.

Email marketing

Below are the email marketing restrictions on the free trial:

No custom sending domain

Under the free trial, you cannot setup a custom sending domain for your email marketing. While sending from the included @dailystory.net domain will still yield good delivery, a sending domain that matches your business will yield the best delivery rates.

More specifically, this includes setting up the authentication rules that allow DailyStory to send emails on your behalf. For example, if you want to send emails from deal@mystore.com you can do this, but recipients will receive the emails as "deals@mystore.com on behalf of noreply@dailystory.net".

Unfortunately, this could cause some delivery issues with higher volume email sends. Therefore, an authenticated sending domain is generally the best approach, which you can do on a paid plan.

All emails sent will be sent from the domain dailystory.net and will automatically contain the following attribution in the footer:

Maximum of 100 email sends

The total of emails available on the free trial is 100.

This is inclusive of both scheduled emails and automated emails but does not apply to notifications sent to you by DailyStory.

Once this limit is reached no additional email sends can be made without upgrading your plan.

Text message and SMS marketing

Text messaging / SMS marketing is not available on the free trial. In order to send SMS messages the phone carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.) require senders to register their company through a process known as 10DLC registration. Submitting for 10DLC has additional costs and monthly fees.

API access and Webhooks

The DailyStory API along with associated webhooks are not included in the free trial.

Android and iOS Push Notification Support

Support for Push Notifications is not available on a free trial.

Other limitations of the Free Trial

Below are other limitations of the free plan. The majority of these options are for advanced uses of the DailyStory platform and will not impede your use of the free trial.
